A compactum is one of the most practical additions to any nursery. It combines a changing surface at a comfortable working height with drawers and shelving for nappies, clothing, creams and other essentials — keeping everything in one place during changes rather than requiring you to move around the room. Our compactum range runs from clean, minimal designs through to more substantial units with integrated shelving, including the Sadie Scallop and Harper for a more considered aesthetic.

Shelving and storage become more important than they appear during the planning stage. What is a compactum and do I need one?

A compactum is a dedicated changing unit – a surface at the right height for nappy changes, with built-in storage for the items you need most. While a mat on the floor or bed can work, a purpose-built compactum makes frequent changes easier on your back and keeps everything in one organised place.
